This past holiday weekend, my mom, the avid gardener she is, took to our budding garden. Amidst the floral explosion of pink, magenta, purple, and green stood an outlier: our weeping birch tree. Normally at this time of year, our weeping birch is in full bloom, so the juxtaposition of this barren tree with the flourishing surroundings was truly a sight for sore eyes.
